Perhaps most recognizable for his bright red hair and for his role as Peter, the gay best-friend of Ellen Morgan on the series Ellen, Patrick was also a cast member of the Independent Film Channel's The Minor Accomplishments of Jackie Woodman and had a recurring role on The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. He also has a recurring role on King of the Hill.

Bristow is a veteran of numerous high-profile TV guest-star roles that include the Seinfeld episode "The Wig Master", his recurring role on Mad About You, and Larry David's choreographer on Curb Your Enthusiasm. He has also guest starred on Malcolm in the Middle, That's So Raven, CSI, and Headcase. His film work has included Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, Showgirls, The Longest Yard, Twilight of the Golds, and the independent films Jimmy and Judy and Enigma with a Stigma.

Bristow was nominated for a Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award, an LA Stage Alliance Ovation Award, and took home a Back Stage West Garland Award for originating the role of Bob in The Breakup Notebook: The Lesbian Musical. Bristow is an alumnus of the Los Angeles improv troupe The Groundlings, where he still occasionally performs. He also continues to teach improv in Los Angeles through his own school/repertory company, Improvatorium.

A Los Angeles native, Bristow is the third child of former performers Frank Bristow and Patricia O'Kane and still resides in his hometown with his partner since 1994, Andrew Nicastro.
